Quote of the Week #2
August 30th, 2008
“Deep within man dwell those slumbering powers; powers that would astonish him, that he never dreamed of possessing; forces that would revolutionize his life if aroused and put into action.”
Sometimes we just need to take a day off and imagine what we can be, what we can accomplish and how great it would all make us feel. So who do you want to be? What do you want in your life? Write it down and take massive action. Mr. Marden says you will be blown away with the results and I know he’s right.
Quote of the Week #1
August 23rd, 2008

“In this age, which believes that there is a short cut to everything, the greatest lesson to be learned is that the most difficult way is, in the long run, the easiest.”
-Henry Valentine Miller
When I was younger I would not have agreed with this quote but after getting my butt kicked over and over again because I tried to take the “shorter and easier” road I have been cured of such foolishness.
Quote of the Day from Zappos.com CEO
August 22nd, 2008
I just saw a great quote that Tony, the CEO of zappos.com, posted on his Twitter account:
“Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.”
That sure makes a lot of sense to me! I definitely feel more stable, wise and secure than ever and I think that is mostly due to my willingness to take risks and make mistakes. The key is to this learning from those mistakes! If you fail to learn you are screwed!
Zappos.com - Hero’s to Emulate
July 8th, 2008
I know yesterday I wrote I am not really into posting videos; I guess I have changed. Last wee ABC’s Night Line was at the offices of Zappos.com…you know the online shoe company? If you are not familiar with them now, you will want to be after watching the video NightLine produced.
The reason I am posting it here is because Zappos.com is a model of what I think a business should look like. If Tony Hsieh, can build a great company then so can others. I want to be one of those “others.”
Here is where to check out the video:
Here is Inc. Magazine article about Tony and Zappos.com:
Need a Boost? Watch this video!
July 7th, 2008
I was just investigating a social media platform for this website and came across this video. Now I rarely share video on any of my blogs so you have to know this is special. It’s about an autistic kid who is a ball boy/manager for the high school basketball team. This video tells the story of what happened when the coach decided to let the young man play in the last game of the season, enjoy:
The two things that stand out to me on this video is:
1. His passion and commitment created the opportunity to get into the game.
2. When the opportunity to play came went all out and held nothing back.
May we all live like this kid!
